Sorenstam birdies 18 to finish final major

Annika Sorenstam completed her last major championship with a 10-foot birdie putt for a 4-under 68 at the Women's British Open on Sunday although she was well out of contention for the title. The 37-year-old Swede, who will leave golf at the end of this year to pursue business interests and start a family, had her best round of the week as she hit every green on the 6,408-yard Old Course at Sunningdale.

Shin wins Women's British Open; Annika 24th

Ji-Yai Shin has won the Women's British Open by three strokes after a final round 6-under 66. The 20-year-old South Korean captured her first major victory Sunday after an 18-under score of 270. Yani Tseng of Taiwan was second with a 66 and a 15-under total of 273 Shin's victory continued Asia's domination of majors on the LPGA Tour. Tseng won the LPGA Championship and Korea's Inbee Park took the Women's U.S. Open.
